Bad news for local e-sports enthusiasts: one of the two teams representing the country in the largest Dota 2 stage has dropped out from the annual The International 2017 (TI7) event.

Team Execration (XctN) apparently lost to the more experienced Europeans during the first knockout round of the Lower Bracket matchups.

The Pinoy team got stunned by the aggressive moves of Team Secret, who almost pulled off the game’s first kill within 30 seconds of the match. They still got it anyway a few seconds after their first attempt after ganging up in the middle lane, where they performed a creep block maneuver.

Despite this loss, team XctN is still going home with $119,435 (roughly P6 million).

Meanwhile, TNC Pro Team is still in the running with their upcoming best-of-three series against the world’s third seed, Chinese team LFY in the Upper Bracket C matchup.

The Filipino fan-favorite is already guaranteed a $354,615 (roughly P17.8 million) payday even if they lose to LFY. But winning means they get to continue their Dota 2 journey—the road to the Grand Finals where they can win $10,402,037 or roughly half a billion pesos.
