We all knew Globe was going to launch the Nokia Lumia 800. What we didn't know was when exactly. That has changed now,  as we've just gotten official confirmation that the Ayala-owned telecom will be launching the device on April 18, Wednesday.

The launch is two days from now but the pre-orders have been on-going since last month. Fact is, Globe has announced that the Lumia 800 will be available to postpaid users at P1,499 a month with the My Super Plan Unlisurf Combo 999. So yeah, many of the details have been spilled and this announcement is certainly another significant tidbit.

The Lumia 800 is actually the first Nokia Windows Phone. It sports a 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 CPU along with 512MB of RAM and 16GB capacity and 25GB of cloud-based SkyDrive space. A 3.7 touchscreen at 800 x 480 resolution with ClearBlack tech (the same one found on the  E7 slider) takes care of the eye-candy department while an 8-megapixel main camera with flash and f/2.2 aperture will do the shooting chores.

So there, Nokia is really stepping on the gas pedal here with both Globe and Smart set to offer its Lumia spawns. We're looking forward to handling each and every one of 'em. In the meantime, check out the gallery below for our first impressions of the Lumia 800.
