We all know that both Smart and Globe will be offering the Samsung Galaxy S III very soon. Fact is, we've already confirmed that the former will start pre-orders for the flagship phone on May 23. Guess what? Globe has just announced that it will also do the same on the same day, too!
Yep, the Galaxy s III will be up for pre-order starting May 23 (that's Wednesday next week, FYI) from both telcos. For Globe, the device could be under Unli Surf Combo packages which come with unlimited mobile surfing and, of course, call and text services. However there's still no word on exactly what plans it will come free. We're thinking it will be available on Unli Surf Combo 2499 (or other Globe postpaid plans with the same or higher monthly fee) without cash out.
Peter Bithos, Globe Senior Advisor for Consumer Business, says “As the first Philippine operator to bring Samsung Galaxy S1 and S2 to the Philippines, Globe is proud to be carrying the Samsung Galaxy S3 once again, powered by our portfolio of personalized and fully-customizable data plans and backed by a stronger and more reliable HSPA+ network which we continue to aggressively expand nationwide.”
As with the case with Smart, Globe hasn't indicated anything about prepaid kit pricing which leads us to think both telcos might only offer the Galaxy S III on their postpaid plans. Guess those who want the device without being tied to a monthly subscription will have to look for other official retailers, but that shouldn't be much of a problem.
For those who'd like to get on Globe's Galaxy S III offers, visit this page starting on May 23 (it's live now but you can't pre-order yet). As for us, we'll be waiting for the fireworks from both telcos and judge which one made the louder "bang!"once Sammy's latest flagship is finally unveiled here in the Philippines.
