At the tail-end of 2011, we first reported that Google is coming up with a tablet. Fast forward to today and we're now hearing reports that the device, which the Internet is calling the Nexus 7, could be unveiled very, very soon. How soon? Think in a couple of days. Not only that, rumor has it that the hardware it will pack has already been leaked.

So, what are the goodies we could possibly find within the device? For starters, the buzz has it that it will be powered by the combo of an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core 1.3GHz chip and 1GB of RAM. There's also a 7-inch IPS display with 1280 x 800 resolution while on the imaging department we could expect a 1.2-megapixel shooter. What's more interesting is that the Nexus 7 tablet might have Android Jelly Bean at its core. Nice!

According to Gizmodo Australia, the device will finally be the big announcement of Google's I/O conference this week and is built by ASUS, something that we've already heard of before. But the best part is the expected prices. We don't want to jinx it but, going with what's swirling around now, the Nexus 7 tablet will go for $199 (about P8,400) for the 8GB version and $249 (about P10,500) for the 16GB. Now that's cheap. Reminds us of this tablet. Wait, could it be the inspiration for this one? We dunno but we'll likely find out soon enough.

First the Windows 8-powered Surface tablets and now this. Whoever said the tablet march is slowing down is clearly mistaken.
