Just in case you still have room in your gadgets list for the holidays, we have a couple of newcomers that are worthy of at least a look. Pinoy geeks, check out the new Microsoft Lumia 535 and Nokia Lumia 735both are set to be available here in the Philippines this month!

"Wait, aren't Lumia phones from Nokia?" you ask? It's all part of Microsoft's acquisition of Nokia, boys and girls. The Lumia 535 is actually the first Lumia to land on our friendly shores officially without the Nokia brand name. On the other hand, the Lumia 735 is among the last handsets to carry the Nokia name. You might as well call them the start and end of an era!

Here's a closer look at each phone:

A five-incher with a quad-core brain, the Lumia 535 has the power to run your apps, mobile games, and your social media sessions. 1GB of RAM lets you do these in rapid succession while a pair of 5-megapixel cameras allows you to holler out using Skype and shoot selfies/groupfies (because who doesn't, right?). All that for less than P6,000! Not bad Nokia, este, Microsoft!

The Lumia 535 is also a dual-SIM devicea fact that gets a nod from us (because...convenience!)

Hardware highlights: 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB capacity (expandable up to 128GB via microSD), 5-megapixel front and back cameras, Bluetooth, 3G, Wi-Fi, Windows 8.1

Yours for: P5,990 for prepaid; also available under Globe's Plan 599 and Sun's Plan 499.

This one's also a quad-core device with 1GB of RAM. However, the Lumia 735 has a slightly smaller touchscreen (4.7-inches). To make up for the size decrease, the display's in 720p HD (the Lumia 535's screen is sadly not in HD resolution). Also, the Lumia 735 has 4G connectivitythat should be more than enough to make up for its lack of dual-SIM capability.
