Well, how about that? Looks like HP is ready to party as the company has just snatched the top spot in PC sales worldwide from Apple, reclaiming the title it lost to Tim Cook and co. late last year.

Wait, what? Apple was numero uno in global PC sales? Yep, if you include tablet sales, that is. As we all know, the iPad is the most popular and best-selling of its kind thus far and, when its sales are included in the computations, Apple's numbers will significantly be boosted. Remove the tablet from the equation and, well, let's just say it's not a close fight. As for for the numbers, HP barely surpassed Apple, managing to ship out 15.8 million in Q1 2012 according to figures from Canalys. That's 40,000 more than what the guys over at Cupertino shipped counting the iPad. Lenovo, Acer, and Dell complete the top 5 cast. On a related note, it looks like the global PC market has experienced a sort of resurgence, increasing by 21% from last year.

So there, HP is top dog once again. Apple may have dropped to number 2 (which isn't too shabby either) but that doesn't mean it's been having a bad year. Fact is, so far, 2012 is turning out to be really fruity for the giant fruit.
