HP is all set to take another plunge into the local ultrabook scene, and it will be coming armed with something that made us feel giddy when we first saw it several months back. Techies, get ready to say hello to the HP Envy 14 Spectre, a glass-covered looker of an ultrabook that will be unveiled here in the Philippines this week, on June 7 to be exact, and it won't be alone.
This tid bit came to us in the form of a media invite so, yeah, this one's legit. The Envy 14 Spectre was actually first introduced at the beginning of this year in CES, and it made us take notice not only because of its glass-covered lid, display, trackpad and palm rest but also because of its handsome innards. This bad boy will come with a 14-inch screen (1600 x 900 resolution), 4GB of RAM, a 128GB SSD (solid-state drive), and Beats Audio. Sadly, the Envy 14 Spectre won't be packing an Ivy Bridge chip, probably since it became official ahead of Intel's 3rd-gen Core chips. That may have cost it a few pogi points but still we're excited to check it out in the flesh.
Now, for its companion in its Philippine debut, it's the HP Pavilion Phoenix H9, a top-notch desktop that we bet gamers and power users will like to put in their Christmas wishlists. As for its innards, we're not sure but the buzz is that it will have a Core i7 chip, 16GB of DDR3 memory, AMD Radeon HD 6850 graphics and 2TBs of storage. Wow!
Local and pricing and availability are still under wraps but the good news is we'll most probably know in a couple of days so, stay tuned.
