As expected, HTC and Smart just unveiled the One X and the One V here in the Philippines with a soft launch event at the Jump center (the full-blown launch will be held tomorrow evening). We were there to witness the festivities (and play with the handsets) and we've got to tell you, both devices look and feel really good and yes, we've also scored their SRPs but more on that in a bit.
We've already discussed both phones quite a bit before so we'll just give you a short description of each. The One V could be seen as the entry-level offering in the One series. It really reminded us of the HTC Hero due to its curved chin design that adds pogi points to the whole package. It comes with a single-core 1GHz CPU that's coupled with 512MB of RAM, a 3.7-inch 800 x 480 display and a 5-megapixel camera with Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box.
Then there's the One X which is deemed as the flagship device of the bunch, and it has the hardware to back this claim up. It's HTC's first quad-core device sporting a 1.5GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 chip together with 1GB of RAM. Built-in storage tops out at 32GB and, just like the One V, this one comes with Ice Cream Sandwich. It also boasts an 8-megapixel camera with F2.0 aperture that is claimed to produce impressive photos compared to other flagships. There's also a 1.3-megapixel camera up front for video calls. In the eye-candy department, the One X has a 4.7-inch LCD display with 1280 x 720p resolution covered in Gorilla Glass giving that sleek and durable feel.
Curiously, the third spawn in the group, the One S, was a no-show. We're told that it's not part of the launch and will arrive later this year, probably in Q3. Anyway, the One V will retail for P16,500 while the One X will go for the hefty sum of P34,000. They should land in local stores very soon. In the meantime, check out the handful of photos in the gallery below.
