Today in fresh iPhone rumors, we have something that will make mobile photography enthusiasts stand up and take notice.
Images of what is rumored to be the iPhone 7 Plus that show what looks to be a longer rear camera slot have leaked, paving the way for buzz about the device having a dual-camera setup. According to Independent.co.uk, the photos are now circulating around Chinese sites and forums.
What makes things more interesting is the fact that another set of photos, this time of what's rumored to be the iPhone 7 Plus' camera module, are being shared by Taiwanese site Apple.club.tw. The photos show two cameras, supporting the dual-setup claim. Similar images have also been spotted in the Chinese social media site Weibo.
However, the said leaked images of the iPhone 7 Plus seem to go against previous rumors. There's clearly a protrusion, which adds more thickness to the device—contradicting claims that the next iPhones will be thinner than the current generation.Still, if this one is legit, it's clearly a sign that Apple wants to improve its camera game even more. The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus are no slouches in the photography department (both have 12-megapixel shooters that can capture higher-than-Full-HD videos), but a dual-camera setup will bring new, more advanced features, including 3D selfies.
That being said, we're still taking this one with a grain of salt. Nothing's confirmed yet, and September a.k.a. New iPhones Month is still a long way off.
