Is Apple's iPhone X Getting Canceled?

A reliable leak suggests so

It looks like Apple’s 10th anniversary smartphone will soon be pulled out of production following its recent release late last year.

According to serial leaker and KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, this was due to falling sales of the iPhone X abroad, particularly in the Chinese market. The reason? Let’s just say the Chinese weren’t too fond of the awkward notch on the top portion of the phone’s screen.

We can’t blame them though. Apparently, it’s not just the Chinese who have issues with the weird notch on the iPhone X. There’s actually been a collective effort from Apple fans to somehow get rid of it like shown in the video below.

Of course, you can’t really remove the notch since it houses the space required for the Face ID camera which is one of the phone’s primary features.

There’s no exact date yet on the supposed discontinuation of iPhone X sales but Kuo said it will be replaced with new, yet similar models this September. These include second generation iterations of the iPhone X and an iPhone SE model—all equipped with Face ID—which means they still have that notch.

The iPhone X launched to much fanfare in November after Apple touted the device as the future of smartphones with its sleek design and an innovative Face ID feature, only that it came with a steep $999 price tag.
