Yep, that's right, folks! LG is all set to officially launch a couple more goodies here in the Philippines tomorrow, namely the Optimus L7 and the 3D-capable Optimus 3D Max.
The news came to us as a media invite so, yep, this is as official as it can get. Anyway, as for what the smartphone duo can offer, let's take a look first at the Optimus L7. For starters, the device sports a 1GHz single-core Qualcomm chip that's partnered with 512MB of RAM. It also packs a 4.3-inch 800 x 480 Gorilla Glass display and 4GB of internal memory (expandable to 32GB via microSD). In the imaging department, there's a 5-megapixel main camera with autofocus and LED flash. And, for those wondering, yes, the Optimus L7 will come with Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
For the other side of the duo, the Optimus 3D Max is powered by the combo of a 1.2Ghz dual-core chip and 1GB RAM with internal storage at 1GB (expandable to 32GB via microSD). As its name states, the device also has 3D capabilities, thanks to its dual 5-megapixel cameras which enables 1080p video for 2D clips and 720p for 3D (VGA secondary camera can be found up front). Yep, this one could be seen as a sort of follow-up to last year's Optimus 3D. As for the display, the Optimus 3D Max has a 4.3-inch 480 x 800 screen. One thing that surprised us is, unlike the Optimus L7, this 3D-enabled device surprisingly only has Android Gingerbread in tow although an ICS update is in the works and is scheduled for later this year.
We still don't have official word on exact pricing and availability. However, we've heard that the Optimus L7 is a mid-range device so an SRP between P14,000 and P16,000 is not far-fetched while the Optimus 3D Max could go for at least P20,000 given its specs. Guess we'll know for sure tomorrow.
