The hardworking fakers are at it again.
This is the GooPad mini. Looks familiar? Well, if you've been an avid follower of anything techie and shiny you'll probably mistake this as the newly-minted iPad mini. Parang xinerox lang, no? But the similarity is only skin-deep. Check out the short video ad below:
The GooPad mini is actually an Android device. Yes, it runs on Android, and on the latest version 4.1 Jelly Bean at that! Naks! But of course, to make it like a legit Apple product, its maker, Chinese company GooPhone, slapped it with an iOS-like launcher, which makes its interface very similar to the one on the iPad mini.
On the inside you'll see a 1.4GHz dual-core CPU that's partnered with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, Wi-Fi connectivity, and dual-cameras. It also has a 7.9-inch touchscreen at 1024 x 768 resolution. Not too shabby, right? Especially when you consider it's much, much cheaper than the real deal's $329 (about P13,600) SRP. The GooPad retails at just $99 (about P4,100). Ang mura, men!
But, as they say with knock-offs, be careful, since they're not really known for their overall quality. You've been warned!
