After the release of Super Mario Run on Apple devices and its soon-to-be rolled out version on Android, Nintendo plans to expand its mobile games on more smartphones starting 2017.

 

Due to the game's success—it's been downloaded more than 40 million times as of writing—the gaming company said in an interview that it is planning to release at least two to three smartphone games every year. Aside from Super Mario, other games which they were planning to roll out include Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing for both iOS and Android. 

The two other games that will soon be released will likely be free to download as well, but will have a paid complete version similar to Super Mario Run

Apart from smartphone games, there are a lot of things to expect from Nintendo in 2017 such as the much awaited release of its new gaming console, the Nintendo Switch
