Capcom finally steered away from the on-rails-gameplay of the recent Umbrella Chronicles and allowed gamers a full range of movements to explore the detailed landscapes of the game. Set roughly 10 years after the original series, Chris Redfield is back in the game and traveling to Africa in order to investigate a reported viral outbreak at the hands of the Umbrella corporation. Shortly after his arrival, Chris meets his new partner, Sheva Alomar and sets out to investigate the strange goings-on in the local town.
The game uses the same over-the-shoulder perspective of Resident Evil 4, and in a new twist, players must work with their partner to complete the game. A load of help if your tropa is as good as you in the game, or simply an added obstacle if you choose to play with an A.I. character. Resident Evil’s latest installment proves its quality sounds and visuals with dynamic and natural lighting effects that add a sense of immersion to the game that really helps on selling the story. - Marc Celis
