If you're into robotics and have an extra $50,000 to burn then you can actually make your own personalized robot at home.
Meet Ricky Ma, a 42-year-old product and graphic designer residing in Hong Kong who created a robot in the likeness of movie star Scarlett Johansson after 18 months.
But Ma declines naming the celebrity he based his robot on, and even prefers to call his branchild "Mark 1" despite its obvious and eerie similarity to the movie star.
Mark 1 has some tricks up its sleeve like introducing itself and responding to Ma's voice commands.
It also knows how to respond to flattery by saying "Thank you."
Aside from this, Mark 1 can pull off basic facial expressions like smiling and winking its eye, although this leaves much to be desired.
According to Ma, it was his childhood dream to create a humanoid robot. "After I grew up, I wanted to make one. But during this process a lot of people would say things like, 'Are you stupid?'" he recalled.
Now he has fulfilled his dream, it doesn't look like he's stopping anytime soon, as his passion for robotics and beautiful ladies has apparently just begun.
