Yep, you read that right. After waiting for several months, the long awaited Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Samsung Galaxy S II has finally hit the Philippines! However, there is a couple of things to take note of first for local users who'd want to snag it.

First things first. Your Galaxy S II must run the stock firmware version for the update to work. However, there could be a bit of a problem with this one for some. According to PinoyDroid, if your phone was bought abroad and its firmware isn't under the DX-Region (which includes us, Vietnam and Thailand), they might have to wait until the update is locally available on where they purchased the handset. Also, you must get Samsung Kies 2.0 (not 1.5 since it's not compatible with Ice Cream Sandwich) to search and install the update.

Got that? Now before you update, you might want to check out the gallery below for Ice Cream Sandwich's notable features.
