As if saying "Hey, let's go a bit old school!" Samsung just made official a new smartphone that has—get this—a clamshell/flip design! Called the Hennessy—no apparent connection to the high-class cognac sosyal drunkards down—it reminds us of those outrageous handset styles that came out in the mid-'00s.
Check it out below.
Clamshell flipping phones became popular almost a decade ago, with the likes of Nokia and Motorola (remember the sleek Razr?) coming out with several specimens. The Hennessy boasts of a similar look. On the inside however, it comes with good-for-2013 specs, including a 1.2-GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 3G connectivity, Android Jelly Bean, and a 5-megapixel camera.
The Motorola Razr: Still looking good after all these years
The best part? Just like its old school bros, the Hennessy sports two 3.3-inch touchscreen displays, each on both sides of the flip cover. With that, you could tag this one as retro outside, current inside.
Apparently, it's set to be available in China. There's still no word on whether or not it will land here. We're hoping it will, though. Having one would be sort of a throwback to the good old cellphone days. That and having two touchscreens to play with seems really sweet.
