You a Smart postpaid subscriber? Guess what, here's something that might make you think of changing plans if you're current plan is about to expire as well as entice those on other networks to jump ship. The giant telco has just unveiled its new, limited-edition, Data Plan 1000, a postpaid subscription plan that aims to give users more bang for their buck by offering free calls, SMS on top of mobile Internet surfing.

So what does this new postpaid plan offer? You'll get 500 worth of text messages to all networks, 500 minutes of voice calls to any Smart number as well as 1GB of data per month for P1,000. Those who avail of the plan will be in for a lock-in period of 2 years. Of course, that's still not including the smartphones (see gallery below) that will come bundled with the plan. Let us also remind you though that the P1,000 charge doesn't include the monthly charge for paying for the handset itself which adds anywhere from P500 to P1,300 per month for 24 months. What does this mean? Well, for example, you chose to get the BlackBerry Bold 9790 (at P900 per month), you'll be paying a total of P1,900 a month.

By comparison, Smart's other, more expensive postpaid deals might offer much more mobile web surfing but also give less or just the same amount of free text and messages. This means the Data Plan 1000 is for those who use smartphones more for calls and text than for browsing. We got word that it would be available sometime next week until May 15 or about 2 months for those who'd like to subscribe. Anyway, check out the gallery below for the list of 10 smartphones you can choose from and the corresponding added monthly charge.

Note: The Data Plan 1000 is under Smart's anti-bill shock
