Yep, it looks like Smart Communications is not done with playing the role of the busy bee as the telco is all set to launch HTC's new One smartphone line. D-Day? April 11 or Wednesday next week. This after we've confirmed that Smart will also be offering Nokia's Lumia 900, Lumia 710, and Lumia 610.
This bit of news came to us in the form a press invite for the local unveiling. We're not sure if all three HTC One handsets will all be part of the show although we're assuming that will be the case since the invitation says Smart will be launching the HTC One family. What we're sure of is we'll see the One X as it's the handset shown on the invite. That and reports about its local landfall has been circulating around the web in the past couple of weeks.
The HTC One line was first announced at MWC 2012, and here are its members:
HTC One V
Could be described as the HTC Hero's second coming (it also has that curved-chin design on its base), the One V sports a 1GHz CPU that's coupled with 512MB of RAM, a 3.7-inch 800 x 480 display and a 5-megapixel camera with Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box. Check out the video preview below.
HTC One S
Meanwhile, the One S has a speedier 1.5GHz dual-core chip, 1GB of RAM, and a 4.3-inch 540 x 960 pixel display. It will also have Ice Cream Sandwich in tow while it's dual cameras (8-megapixel main with 1080p HD video recording, VGA secondary) will take care of the imaging department.
HTC One X
As we've reported before, the One X is the flagship, and it has the hardware to back this title up. This device is actually HTC's first quad-core handset, sporting a 1.5GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 chip. It also boasts 1GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory and reportedly impressive shooting capabilities with its 8-megapixel main camera (1.3-megapixel secondary) with F2.0 aperture. And, as expected, Ice Cream Sandwich will running things on this one.
No word on pricing yet although you can count on us to update you on that A-SAP.
