As technology keeps on developing, we keep on seeing devices out in the market with newer and better features. Gadgets keep on changing every year and the old features we once knew are slowly disappearing. 2016 was overflowing with innovative handsets that certainly changed our smartphone experience. With new features that were released on some devices, we can now clearly see the path that smartphone manufacturers will be taking in the future. 

Here are some of the mobile devices which certainly changed the face of technology this year and the next few years to come: 

1) LG G5

The LG G5 is one of those devices which isn't so popular in our country, but what makes this handset revolutionary is the fact that it is one of the devices that pioneered dual-camera technology. Even before Apple announced this key feature in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, a number of brands had already rolled out smartphones with two rear cameras.

2) Sony Xperia X

The Sony Xperia X wasn't marketed as being waterproof, but most tests were able to unveil its waterproof quality. You can take it to places such as the beach or by the pool without having the fear of getting it wet. However, we still wouldn't advice you to take waterproof smartphones for a snorkeling session.

3) iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus

Though Apple is the only company with a smartphone that lacks a 3.5 mm headphone jack, other phone manufacturers will surely follow their footsteps in the years to come. Most people don't approve of the absence of a headphone jack due to its inconvenience. However, we're sure that we won't be able to stop this change from happening.

4) Google Pixel

First was Apple's Siri, and now, other smartphone companies are already introducing their own smart assistants. Take Google's Google Now. It's not exactly like Siri, but it has its own special qualities, such as integrating with the Google search engine on Android phones. 

5) Xiaomi Mi Mix

Xiaomi is known to have similar features with Apple, thus being branded as the Apple of China. However, their devices contain some traits that are unique to their brand. One of the most talked about features that they have on their Mi Mix is its bezzel-free design.

6) Blackberry Priv

Wireless charging is seldom seen on smartphones. There are only a few brands with this particular design and one of them is Blackberry's Priv. Like other handsets capable of wireless charging, the Priv utilizes a magnetic dock.

7) Asus Zenfone 3

Like the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, Asus was also quick to upgrade their phone's features to have a USB Type C port. Technically, the old USB ports are quickly becoming obsolete as more and more brands are shifting to USB C as well.
