But you shouldn't expect any old models, such as the Nokia 5110 or 3210, to be coming out any time soon. According to the Finnish company, they will release smartphones with an Android OS. Though the phones will be under their brand, a different company will handle the manufacturing.
We bet you're all curious as to what Nokia has in mind for their loyal consumers. Thanks to leaked images and details from Weibo which immediately caught the attention of GSM Arena, we will now be able to see whatthe company has in store for the public.
Here are some of the things you should know about the flagship phones to be released by Nokia in 2017:
1) It will come in two sizes
According to the leaked specs, the soon-to-be-released Nokia phones will sport a 5.2 and 5.5-inch screen. Both of them will have a 2K resolution, which isn't all that bad for a comeback.
2) The camera will be a Carl Zeiss camera
The flagships will be installed with the popular Carl Zeiss camera which, if you can recall, were also installed in Nokia Lumia phones.
3) Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Chipset
Though earlier rumors stated that Nokia is planning to install the much faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 350 chipset, it looks like the first phones that they will release will skip it and settle for and 820 chipset instead. There's still a chance however for succeeding Nokia phones to carry a 350 chipset which would enable the device to charge quickly.
4) 4GB RAM
In order to compete with the rising demand for quicker functioning phones, Nokia will have their flagships installed with 4GB RAM.
5) Android Nougat
Like other phones from different brands, the new Nokia phones will run on the all new Android Nougat.
6) Water and Dust proof
Last but not the least, the future Nokia handsets will be equipped with a waterproof and dustproof casing. It's perfect for the beach (or while streaming videos while on the toilet).
