Nokia will be unveiling something here in the Philippines on May 18 (that's Friday next week). We're not sure what it is since the announcement didn't reveal much about anything other than a press invitation. However, we think it's pretty obvious that it's something about the Lumia range, judging from the image above which is part of the invite sent to us.
So, what Lumia will we see by the end of next week? We're guessing it's the Lumia 900 since its sibling, from the Lumia 610 to 800, have already been unveiled locally. That's exciting for us since we view the handset as the most drool-worthy of Nokia's Windows Phone bunch. As a refresher, the Lumia 900 comes with a 1.4GHz single-core (not dual-core) CPU with 512MB of RAM. It also has an 8-megapixel main camera with Carl Zeiss optics, dual-LED flash and autofocus while a secondary 1-megapixel shooter takes care of the video-call chores. The Lumia 900 also boasts the largest touchscreens to be found on a Nokia device at 4.3-inches (800 x 480 resolution). Then there's Windows Phone 7.5 Mango and 4G LTE connectivity which we don't think will be of much use here but, hey, we're not complaining.
So yeah, the Lumia 900 is our bet, but we could be wrong. Maybe it's the launch of the whole Lumia line (even if most of its members have already been launched here) and not just one phone. Or maybe the 808 PureView? That might be a bit of a stretch but you never know. Fortunately we don't have to wait long.
