First off, a few choice words for you, Christmas shopper: May natitira pa ba sa 13th month pay mo?

If you followed our gift guide correctly, chances are you've burned through your bonus already. But if not, and you've been a penny-pinching Scrooge, well, you're in luck! Sony Philippines has just announced that they will be offering pre-orders for one of this year's most wanted thingamajigs, the PS4!

Yes, Sony's new wonder console, said to be capable of OMG-super-intense-is-this-real-life graphics, is going to be officially launched here in the Philippines, and will have full support from the manufacturer. This is a notable development for gaming in the Philippines, as this will be the first Sony console to have local support from the start of its life cycle.

Now, let's break down the important stuff:

1) Pre-orders started yesterday, December 15, 2013 and will run through January 10, 2014.

2) You can pre-order at selected Sony Centers and VAIO shops nationwide. Those who pre-order will enjoy one-year extended warranty and two special Sony premium items.

3) The console will officially launch on January 14, 2014. Mark that date, and earmark P24,999 for the console.  As for games, the launch will feature 14 launch frame titles developed by Sony and third-party game makers.

4) Customers who purchase a PS4 are entitled to have a one-year free regional repair service in countries where the product has been officially launched. This includes Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia. The warranty will be valid throughout these countries.

Got all that, gamer bro? Compared to black market units, which retail for an estimated average of P30,000, going for officially-launched units might be the smart moveespecially for an untested console that might still have bugs. The manufacturer's warranty should alleviate those worries.

Alongside the new console, Sony is also offering the PS Vita TV. The new system will launch on January 16, 2014 with a recommended retail price of P5,999.

Lastly, apart from these two big systems, Sony has also prepared other PS4-centric bundles and peripherals. There will be bundled sets of PS4s with PS Camera, games like Battlefield 4 and Killzone: Shadow Fall.

There will also be a wide range of peripherals for PS4 that will be introduced on the same day, such as the color variation for PS4 DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller in “Magma Red” and “Wave Blue,” the DUALSHOCK 4 Charging Station, and the PS4 Vertical Stand.
