Kudos to the guys over at Sony! They've managed to create a device that's not only thinner and lighter than the iPad Air, it's also waterproof and has souped up innards! Geeks, here's the Sony Xperia Z2 tablet.
As if saying "What you can do, I can do better!" to Apple, Sony released the all-new Sony Xperia Z2 tablet at the on-going Mobile World Congress in Spain. What's the big fuzz about it? The darn thing is thinner and lighter than the super patok iPad Air!
Check out the sexy beast and its supermodel-thin bod below:
Now before you howl in protest—"That's bullcrap!"—the Xperia Z2 is actually being marketed by Sony as the world's thinnest and lightest waterproof tablet. So it's no surprise that it's thinner and lighter than Apple's latest, greatest, and anorexic-est tablet.
Here are the figures:
- Weight: iPad Air (469g), Sony Xperia Z2 (426g)
- Thickness: iPad Air (7.2mm), Sony Xperia Z2 (6.4mm)
- Display size: iPad Air (9.7 inches), Sony Xperia Z2 (10.1 inches)
Partida, the Xperia Z2 has a bigger display!
Can you do this with your tablet?
Impressive, but don't get hooked too much on its outside appearance. As they say, true beauty lies within. The Xperia Z2 sports a quad-core processor that's paired with a whopping 3GB of RAM. If that's not enough, it also has 16GB of internal storage, an 8.1-megapixel camera with Full HD 1080p video recording, Wi-Fi, and LTE. All that in a frame that's waterproof and dustproof.
Sony's still keeping mum on exact pricing details, although you can bet it won't be cheap. However, the company did reveal that the device will roll out globally starting next month. Hear that, local geeks? Ipon na!
