We'll say this about Starmobile: the company's on a roll!

"What's up with such a declaration?" you ask? Well, get this, the Pinoy brand has unveiled its second smartphone with no less than eight friggin' cores! Ikaw na, Starmobile!

Called the Octa, the device is Starmobile's most feature-packed handset to date. Check out the handsome beast below.

Looking good there, no? The Octa follows the footsteps of the Starmobile Diamond X1, another hardware monster which is also the first Pinoy-branded octa-core phone. And like its kuya, the device had us the moment we laid our sweaty palms on it. We were able to play with it for a few minutes. Our verdict? The darn thing is so zippity-fast, it made our own phones feel obsolete!

Yep, this one's stacked under the hood. Aside from having an octa-core processor, it comes with 2GB of RAM, a whopping 32GB of internal memory, and a 5-inch touchscreen! Speaking of the display, the Octa has a Full HD (1020x1920) resolution for todo enjoyment of your photos and videos. In the imaging department, the device boasts a rear camera with 18 megapixels of imaging awesomeness. The one up front a.k.a. the secondary shooter? A not-t00-shabby 8 megapixels. Good news for selfie addicts!

3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth are all part of the mix as well. And for those thinking dual-SIM capability is reserved for cheaper, less-endowed feature phones, this one has it, too. Noice!

Being able to launch not one but two octa-core phones in a few months' time is definitely a mean feat, especially for a local brand like Starmobile. Again, ikaw na, Starmobile!

As for the price, the Octa is now available for P16,990. It's the priciest Starmobile phone so far but still not bad; we imagine a similar phone from a big time brand will go for much more (mahina na ang P20,000). So yeah, pwede!
