The rumor mill on the iPhone 8 and Samsung’s Note 8 flagships has been going on like crazy as the release of these smartphones draw closer. But take a step back from the hype and you will realize that these aren’t the only tech stories that have been getting some good developments recently.

Having said that, let’s check out other digital updates that are worth knowing this week, from fresh details on the new Nokia unit, fresh emojis, and the latest Atari console.

Nokia 8

The nostalgic company that successfully made a comeback with a refresh of the iconic 3310 phone is still alive and kicking with its upcoming smartphone, to be launched on July 31.

Nokia’s new product has a sleek 5.3-inch display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, and up to 6GB of RAM with an additional 64GB storage option. It will also reportedly come with a dual 13-megapixel camera from longtime partner Carl Zeiss optics.

Apple emojis

Tired of using the same old smileys? Worry not for the tech giant has heard you loud and clear, and they are bringing in new stuff to iOS.

We’re apparently getting emojis like a cute T-Rex, a star-eyed emoji, a zombie that looks like Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead series, and a guy who’s apparently in a chill yoga pose.

An exact release date has not been announced but Apple stated that these new emojis will be available later this year.

Ataribox

Just last month, the brand got the whole gaming community excited after it presented a sneak peek of their upcoming console, which basically confirmed that the retro game company was back in the hardware business.

This time around, Atari was generous enough to reveal the sleek design of the Ataribox.
