After teasing the mode during the Black Ops IIII reveal last May, we finally get a better look at Call of Duty's battle royale mode called "Blackout." Here's the two-minute trailer so you don't have to wade through several reaction videos on YouTube to find it.
So this is where the effort has gone because BO4 has no single-player campaign if you remember and surprisingly, there isn't much hate for it! That's the power of a hype trailer featuring:
- Famous franchise locations such as Nuketown to a massive hydroelectric dam which you can...
- Wingsuit off of and land in the water–which you can swim and shoot in
- Helicopters you can pilot with your squad
- High-tech traps and gadgets
Now, PUBG and its mortal foe Fortnite are still immensely popular titles, but with how smooth the Blackout trailer is, many are boldly declaring that this is the end for those two battle royale shooters. It's also interesting because it's essentially a battle between three different types of games—the indie vibe of PUBG, the free-to-play game which is Fortnite, and the triple-AAA mainstream challenger in Black Ops
