Remember the news about the quick charging technology which will supposedly be installed in the smartphones of the future? Well, it looks like we're very close to getting a hold on one of these handsets because leaked images of the Snapdragon 835 specs have recently surfaced on tech website videocardz.com

A Tweet from chipset manufacturer, Qualcomm, also appeared online, which hints the release of the Snapdragon 835 this year as well as its debut at the CES 2017 trade show in Las Vegas on January 5.

As promised, the chipset will have Quick Charge 4 technology, which will give devices 5 hours of battery life with only five minutes of charging time.

Other specs include support for USB Type-C devices, 20 percent performance boost when loading apps and browsing the internet, and half the power consumption compared with previous chipsets such as the Snapdragon 801.

As of writing, we still have no clue as to which handsets will contain the 835, but rumors claim that the Xiaomi Mi6 and LG G6 are the first lucky smartphones to be built using it.
