Sustainability is a word many of us should be getting used to by now. Better yet, something we should acknowledge as a new lifestyle.[firstpara]
Even the gadget industry, ones not usually associated with eco-friendly activities, has been doing their part.
Canon recently launched their Green Nation campaign, where they introduced new ways of being eco-friendly.

That got us thinking, and looking for other green gestures from technology that are dedicated to changing the world in more ways than just technology. Here are four that made us nod in approval. We start with Canon, of course.

Canon GreenNation Campaign
The campaign reaches out to every green-loving owner of Canon PIXMA or Selphy printers to drop their empty cartridges for recycling. That is, when the ink cartridges are all but empty.

Refilling them with non-Canon ink would damage your PIXMA or Selphy printers, Canon tells us. So instead of mindlessly throwing them away, why not participate in Canon's GreenNation program and donate those empty cartridges?

You can drop these empty cartridges in recycling bins inside Canon concept stores in malls.

Apart from helping the environment, campaign participants will be entitled to free photography workshops, major sale events, lectures, and other activities. For more info on the Canon GreenNation campaign, click here.
