Remember the Ascend P1 S? It's as thin as handsets can get and is, in fact, the world record holder for the most anorexic currently official. However, if all goes according to Oppo's plan, then we might just see a newcomer snatch the title from Huawei's prized creation. See image below.
That, dear Techies, is a smartphone that reportedly is just 6.65mm thick. While that's just a hair (literally!) thinner than the Ascend P1 S, it's good enough to be the next world's most thinnest smartphone. That is, if Oppo's measurements are correct and, of course, no other device suddenly appears and makes things more interesting. To put things into perspective, that's almost 2 full millimeters thinner than the Galaxy S II which, once upon a time, held the record.
No other details were revealed but from the picture we can see that the device will have three touch-sensitive buttons, a 3-pin dock connector, possibly a volume rocker on the left side, and a metallic bezel. We also won't be surprised if it will run on Android. If ever it does replace the Ascend P1 S, let's see how long it will hold on to the crown.
