2007 marks Lara Croft’s 10th year since her first pixelated adventure in 1997. Now 10 years is a long time, especially if you’re a video game character. Today, Lara Croft’s games continue to be one of the bestselling games of all time, selling over 30 million copies worldwide.
After the success of her most recent game, Lara’s creators have chosen to commemorate her first decade in gaming with yet another adventure. There’s a twist, of course—Crystal Dynamics isn’t a sequel of her last game, but continues to be at the helm of the game’s development. The company is enlisting the help of Toby Gard, the original creator of the Tomb Raider games. The new game is shaping up to please longtime fans while appealing to those new to the franchise.
