Just as everyone was starting to think that Xiaomi was at the brink of failure, the smartphone company suddenly started releasing handset after handset with surprisingly advanced technology, earning them the alias "Apple of China."

The brand wowed everyone when they announced their line of smartphones with technology that was supposedly going to be released next year by Apple.

With just less than two months before 2016 ends, Xiaomi is continuously surprising the public with impressive handsets that rival the biggest names of the smartphone industry.

Last week, Xiaomi introduced the bezel-less (which means without borders) Mi Mix. It's not the first smartphone with an edge to edge design. Other phone companies such as Oppo and ZTE have come up with bezel-less phones in the past.

So what separates the Xiaomi Mi Mix from the other phones?

Here are a few of its features that are worth everyone's attention:

1. Camera

Because Xiaomi decided to eliminate not only the side bezzels but also the top ones, the company needed to relocate the camera to the bottom left corner of the device. Another cool feature of the camera? It rotates.

2. Body

Xiaomi decided to make the Mi Mix's exterior out of ceramic. It also has 18k gold rims around the camera and a finger sensor.

3. No earpiece needed

Don't panic. You'll still be able to hear perfectly thanks to Xiaomi's Cantilever Piezoelectric Ceramic Acoustics. Though it sounds very scientific, the technology behind it is quite simple. An Ultrasonic Proximity sensor behind the front display was installed instead of the usual IR sensor that takes up too much space. That's why Xiaomi was able to eliminate the topmost bezzel of the Mi Mix.

4. Storage

The Xiaomi Mi Mix has about 256GB of UFS 2.0 Storage. UFS storage is better because it saves more power. Plus, it also allows you to transfer and read your phone's files faster. The Mi Mix also has 8GB RAM.

5. Front display

We're all used to the 16:9 or 15:9 display ratio of other phones, but Xiaomi has a 17:9 front display which allows for better viewing.
