Call it "resolutionary" and not revolutionary, the iPad HD or iPad 2S but the latest version of Apple's tablet is indeed selling like hot cakes. Yep, according to Tim Cook and co., they've already managed to sell 3 million freakin' units of the new iPad since its roll-out on March 16 (March 17 here in the Philippines). We think we just heard cash registers go "ka-ching!" over at Cupertino if you know what we mean.
This figure makes the new iPad's first 3 or so days the best ever launch period for any iPad so far. Not that its predecessors didn't sell well but the newcomer is clearly a runaway winner for Apple. To put things in perspective, Apple sold 2 million first-gen iPads---in two months' time! That's already quite a feat but the new iPad trumps that, and that's an understatement. We're betting users are looking at the new iPad's Retina Display as a good enough selling point to buy the device. However, this isn't the most impressive we've seen from Apple. If you can recall, the iPhone 4S sold 4 million units in 3 days.
And if that's not enough, the new iPad is still yet to be released to 24 countries (it's currently available in 10) on March 23 which means this streak is likely to continue. Not so good news for Apple's competitors right there. With this, it's not much of a surprise has this much cash .
