If you can recall, the photo-sharing app introduced their comment moderation tool last September, which allows users to hide comments they don't want to see.
They also included an anonymous reporting tool, which serves as a sort of helpline for users who are thinking of doing self-harm.
"This is in addition to the tools we’ve already developed such as swiping to delete comments, reporting inappropriate comments and blocking accounts," according to a statement from Instagram's official blog.
To further improve their security, they will soon add these three new features:
1) Removing followers
If you want to lessen the people who are following your IG account, then there will soon be an option for you to remove them. Before, the only option to remove them from your followers list was to block them. That means you won't be able to see what they're posting anymore. Now, you can remove them from your followers list but still be able to keep track of what they're posting.
2) Comment liking
IG has already rolled out a heart button next to the comments made on your photos. It's similar to Facebook comment likes on your posts. Just tap the heart icon next to the comment.
3) Turning off comments
Trolls be warned! Users will soon be able to turn off annoying comments that can be seen on their posts. As of now, it's not yet available for all but soon, all IG users will be able to benefit from it.
