America's highest-ever Powerball jackpot—a cool $1.586 billion (or P75,564,970,000) has just been won.
Barely an hour after the winning numbers 4, 8, 19, 27, 34, and 10 were announced, the lottery authorities in California confirmed that the lucky ticket was indeed purchased in their state.
Chino Hills is a suburb of the city of Los Angeles. It is located in the southwestern corner of San Bernardino County. Bordering LA County on its northwest side, Chino Hills leads to Orange County to the south and Riverside County to the southeast. (If your US-based relatives live anywhere near these places, CALL THEM NOW!)
People gathered at the local 7-Eleven store where the ticket was sold, which was identified and confirmed by California Lottery spokesman Alex Travesta.
The final jackpot ballooned to $1.586 billion after 20 winless draws.
While someone has yet to be declared the lucky winner, a certain Erik Bragg took to Instagram to brag (pun shamelessly intended) about having the golden ticket:
Two hours after the initial report, Florida and Tennessee also announced that tickets bearing the winning numbers were also purchased in their states—bringing the possible total number of winners to three. The exact location where the other tickets were bought and the identity of the winners are still unavailable as of this writing.
Nonetheless, whoever these lucky people are, we only have one thing to say to them: Balato naman!
