With the New Year's Eve smoke clearing (and hopefully, that holiday belly fat), it's back to the daily grind for all of us.
Did you miss your crummy office chair? What about you [insert sarcasm here] ultra-fast office Internet connection?
Despite being buried in paperwork, it doesn't entirely mean you can't have a little fun, right? After all, what are weekends for?
And don't you worry—as to what you'll do and where you'll go to start 2016 right, we've got you covered!
1) Party like it's 2015
...with DJ Jazzy Jeff
WHEN: January 8, 11 p.m.
WHERE: Chaos at City of Dreams Manila, Parañaque City
WAZZUP: The renowned DJ and record producer visits Manila to bring his patented beats and spins, and keep the New Year festive!
For VIP table reservations: contact 0917-381-3398 or email ChaosTableReservations@cod-manila.com
2) Witness top-notch opuses
...at the Cinematheque Centre Manila
WHEN: January 8 to 31
WHERE: Cinematheque Centre Manila, Ermita, Manila
WAZZUP: The Film Development Council of the Philippines has finally opened the doors of Cinematheque Centre Manila, which aims to be a Filipino and international film culture hub. A quality lineup of local and Danish films, including Lino Brocka's iconic Maynila Sa Mga Kuko Ng Liwanag, kicks off what looks to be a great year for Philippine cinema.
Admission is free; click here for the film schedule
3) Rock out to the ultimate throwback gig (read: Rivermaya reunion!)
WHEN: January 9, 9 p.m.
WHERE: 19 East Bar & Grill, Service Road Sucat, Muntinlupa City
WAZZUP: It's a bummer that Bamboo is currently out of town, as his ex-'Maya mates Perf de Castro, Rico Blanco, Mark Escueta, and Nathan Azarcon are set to give one helluva show to OPM fans. We guess a bigger stage (and hopefully, all members) is next?
Entrance is at P200
4) Fancy yourself some local pop and comic culture
...at the Games-Toys-Manga-Anime-Cosplay Convention Season 5
WHEN: January 9, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
