Yet again, Pinoy Rock scene is witnessing another dying. It is with a heavy heart that we inform you of this: The NU 107 Rock Awards happening tomorrow, October 29 will be the last.
After 15 years, the most-anticipated, most eventual annual Rock event comes to a close. But—of course there is a but!—but not without the aplomb the public has come to associate with and expect from NU 107.
On the line-up of the by-invite-only event tomorrow are the bands NU has helped make big: Bamboo, Sugarfree, Slapshock, Kamikazee, Itchyworms, Pupil, The Dawn, Up Dharma Down, Urbandub, Franco, and so on.
This is another end we hoped we wouldn't have to witness. Alas...
In honor of the NU 107 Rock Awards, we reprint the "6 Greatest Moments of NU 107 Rock Awards," a short feature that was published in the December 2005 issue of FHM Philippines. Of course with the five years between its publication date and the present, necessary edits ensue.
After all, the Rock Awards was only 10 years old then. The next five years saw more antics, more drama, and more rock n' roll.
