Ladies and gentlemen, the line has finally been drawn. Here lies a designed-to-offend video game so controversial and notorious that we almost feel mortified and irresponsible to be the one informing our dear readers about it.

Kotaku.com has reported the upcoming release of School Shooter: North American Tour 2012, a new game mod dedicated to being the best school shooting experience and can be played free of charge. Well we’ll be damned.

Gamers play the role of a peeved student whose mission is to go on student killing spree in a span of five minutes, with each round ending with the player committing suicide by means of gunshot.

Sounds like Grand Theft Auto, but much more offensive.

The makers of School Shooter used Valve’s source game engine, which explains why some of the murdered students in the game’s screenshot looks straight out of Half Life 2, but is set on cafeterias, gymnasiums, and classrooms.

Certain features of the game such as weapons used are also reportedly based on several real-life university killings, some of which happened only a few years back. Best you know what they are and find out how morally thoughtless this game is:

The Columbine High School Massacre
The date was April 20, 1999 when two senior students, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold threw explosives and fired machine guns in the school’s library, cafeteria, and classrooms, killing 12 students along with one teacher and injuring 24 others in the process. The two decided to commit suicide by shooting themselves in one of the blood-filled classrooms.

The Virginia Tech Massacre
It only took a 23-year old Korean student named Seung-Hui Cho to massacre over 32 people and many others before killing himself during that one fateful day in April 2007. He was diagnosed as mentally ill two years before the shooting, but still managed to purchase his own firearms. Sick dude even sent a photo of himself holding a gun to news networks on the day of the killings.

The Sasebo Slashing Incident
In June 1, 2004, 12-year old Japanese schoolgirl Satomi Mitarai was slit to death by her 11-year old classmate, who remains unnamed by Japanese authorities due to her being a juvenile offender. Girl A, as she was called by the public, slit Mitarai’s throat and arms with a knife because the victim called her fat on the internet. She apologized several times to the cops.

The University of Texas Massacre
Charles Whitman is a former Marine attending at the University of Texas when he shot and murdered 16 people and wounded 32 others on August 1, 1966. Whitman already killed his wife and mother back at home shortly before going to campus to go on a shooting rampage. He was shot and killed by two Austin police officers, who recovered his .357 magnum and several rifles.
