The body of a police officer still in uniform and tied to a light post was found by authorities along a remote roadway on Barangay Ubihan in Meycuayan, Bulacan.
The victim was identified as PO3 Michael Lee Malalad, who was previously assigned to the Malolos police force, ABS-CBN reported.
Malalad was initially discovered by a motorist with his hands bound while his neck and mouth were strapped.
Hanged on his body was a placard that read, "Pulis na pusher, wag tularan."
According to barangay watchman Policarpio Condecido, they rushed to the area upon receiving the call of the motorist. They then requested the Meycauayan police to respond to the incident.
Investigators recovered two cellphones and a wallet with identification cards. A deep wound was discovered on the victim's head but the cause of death has yet to be determined.
As of the moment, authorities are waiting on Malalad's family to come forward to provide possible leads in the case.
