As expected, Manny Pacquiao was met by an extensive backlash after he made his controversial comments on same-sex marriage.

Local celebrities who are also proud members of the LGBT community like Vice Ganda and Aiza Seguerra wasted no time expressing their disappointment with the boxing icon's view. The country's Pambansang Kamao has since apologized.

However, the latest reaction to Pacquiao's scathing comparison—delivered hours after the 8-division boxing champ posted his apology video on Facebook—probably had the most weight, with the validity of arguments presented.

During an episode of his late-night talk show Tonight With Boy Abunda aired on Tuesday, the popular TV host gave his personal statement regarding Pacquiao's "worse than animals" statement.

Abunda was obviously hurt by what the boxing icon had initially said. Abunda defended Pacquiao in a discourse about his position against same-sex marriage in the past.

The talk show host cited the struggle of African-American people in obtaining their rights, drawing parallels to the LGBT community's fight for equality and dignity.

"I am not begging Manny Pacquiao for dignity. I am not begging you for respect," Abunda stressed. "I am not begging you for my humanity, because you do not own my humanity. Akin yun, that's my birthright."

Finally, he countered Pacquiao's use of the term "common sense."

"Common sense ang pinag-uusapan natin. Tatakbo ka para senador, ito ang aking katanungan, ito personal ko lamang na tanong, 'Palagay mo ba, iboboto ko ba ang isang tao na ang tingin sa akin ay hindi tao? Iboboto ko ba ang isang tao na ang tingin sa akin ay mas masahol pa sa hayop?' Manny, ang kasagutan, salita mo: common sense."
