Used to catching wild cattle, rancher Robert Borba caught himself an unusual prey while he was buying supplies at a Walmart in Eagle Point, Oregon on Saturday.
While loading his truck, Borba heard a commotion in the parking lot. He told KOBI5 News, "I hear a lady yelling, 'Stop him, he stole my bike!'"
The unit was stolen from a bike rack outside the Walmart by a certain Victorino Arellano-Sanchez. Upon realizing that Sanchez was getting away, Borba brought his horse out of its trailer, mounted it and chased the thief down, according to Chris Adams, an Eagle Point police officer who responded to the 9-1-1 call about the thief.
"When we arrived, there was a large crowd standing around a younger gentleman who was on the ground, the rope around his ankle, hanging on to a tree," Adams shared.
Asked how he managed to capture Sanchez, Borba coolly replied, "I just roped him and the rope went down around his feet and I just rode off like I would if I'd roped a cow or something by myself."
He restrained the man until the authorities arrived, then headed back home to his farm. Sanchez would later be charged with theft.
