Yo, Don Mariano Transit, why do you let your drivers operate like this? This is supposed to be the merriest time of the year, and look what happened. Not cool at all.
For those who aren't in the know, here's what happened: Yesterday, December 16, a speeding Don Mariano bus fell off the Skyway and landed on a van, instantly killing 18 people and injuring 20 more. According to witnesses, the bus was traveling (and maneuvering like a boss) at 100kph—way over the Skyway's bus speed limit of 80kph. Worse, it was later reported that the ill-fated bus was operating with heavily worn-out wheels, which is a surefire recipe for disaster.
Like we said: NOT COOL!
But it's not like them drivers and bus operators are going to instantly change their ways; best we can do at this point is to watch our own backs and rely on our better judgment when it comes to commuting. So how can you spot a potential killer bus? Check out our infographic below. Ingat, guys!
