The unnamed user headlined what he wrote as "my apology letter for being a Duterte supporter during the election."
He lamented on the triumphant national leader's head-scratching decisions that swayed him from his initial seal of approval.
Among these are Duterte's choices for members of his Cabinet ("Puro mga kaibigan at trapo"); the shady tax reform; and his war on drugs, which according to the redditor has been repeatedly "debunked (by) reputable sources."
But what he fumes over the most is the crashing economy, which he thinks is partly brought about by the president's crass attitude towards potential investors, people who generate jobs.
He believes that his actions stem from Duterte's inability to accept criticism, and choosing his words carefully and swallowing his pride—albeit slightly—will be for the greater good.
In the end, the author called upon the man's multitude of rabid followers.
He says he understands the fanaticism but asks loyal Duterte supporters to examine if their Tatay Digong's antics truly benefit their country and countrymen.
