It's the weekend, which means the nostalgia gene is on overdrive inside many of us (read: relaxation and boredom are catalysts for memory trips). But rather than wasting your brain cells recalling the name of that hot girl who gave you the cold shoulder in a shady bar many years ago, why don't we focus on something much more positive and loads sexier?
In this edition of Ten Years Ago In FHM History, we dial the clock back to exactly a decade ago to see what made our June 2005 issue extra awesome. We're currently enjoying a month bannered by the Maria Ozawa, but FHM 06/05 isn't that far behind in terms of sheer awesomeness!
The June 2005 issue is best known for being one of only a few featuring more than one cover girl. In this case, we have former Viva Hot Babes Jennifer Lee and Jaycee Parker to thank.
With her Baby G looks and luscious curves, Jennifer became an instant hit with the FHM faithful. Her stint as a Hot Babe made us breathe heavy, but it's her ability to flawlessly transition from one art form to another that really impressed us. She's still making heads turn now, albeit in a different way. Jennifer is now quite the accomplished DJ, lending her music-spinning skills to pump up the crowd at dance clubs and fashion events. You go, girl!
We fondly remember Jaycee as the fierce (both in looks and attitude) tisay member of Viva's all-girl sexy group. We mean, wouldn't you notice her face from a mile away?
Man, Danilo Barrios, why oh why did you ever let her go? #Tsismoso
In that month's edition of Asia's Sex Lessons, Asia Agcaoili taught us a few tips and tricks on picking up women.
We also went gaga for this girl, Shereen, who not only has a vavavoom bod, she also has the lung capacity and lip strength to play a mean sax! Oh, the possibilities!
We admit we don't like the janitor fish, so we sent our ex-mascot, Super Bonngg, to hunt them down. We'd rather not talk about our success rate...
Can you believe these seemingly mangled metallic pieces are actual musical instruments? Mind = blown.
Remember when Friendster was still a thing? April here sure does! In fact, this well-endowed hottie used the platform to hook up with someone online! Ah, memories of our testi-asking sprees...
We also asked some of the fair ladies of Planet Woman what sisig is made of. They may not drink beer as much as we do but they sure know their pulutan!
Before he was spewing out nuggets of wisdom in Word of the Lourd, Lourd de Veyra fronted the band Radio Active Sago Project which was known for such eccentric hits like "Astro." We chatted with them and learned a few interesting tidbits, like the fact that their song "Urban Gulaman" was somehow influenced by unique-sounding horns like those on jeepneys and ice cream carts.
That issue's top joke was all about the hickie (and being a big, fat liar).
We return to regular sexy programming with our Girlfriend of the Month, Jane, who hates woman-beaters (don't we all?) and taking a nighttime dip at the pool.
And that month's best ad goes to Dunlop, for pretty obvious reasons...
Because our taste for all things sexy goes beyond national borders, here's Kyla Cola, a Slovakian model who already starred in several magazines abroad, including Penthouse.
Man, what a bombshell!
In more serious news, we interviewed a self-confessed casino high-roller and detailed his rise and fall in gambling.
The main takeaway from that big read feature is: Gambling is, as with most things, dangerous when not done in moderation.
Still remember Nadine Schmidt? No? Maybe this will jog your memory:
Avid viewers of Eat Bulaga in the mid-2000s will surely be familiar with the Fil-German model as she became one of the the sexy members of the noontime show's crew back then.
The month's top Ladies Confessions entry shows us one of the perks of having a twin.
We know giving birth ain't something we ever want to go through, but we learned just how stressful and painful it really is when we imagined ourselves as pregnant.
To all the mothers everywhere, saludo kami sa inyo!
And because a dirty room isn't exactly a turn-on for women, we showed you a few tricks to transform it from a dirty and stinking lair to something much more presentable.
Time to bring them ladies over!
We introduce you to Jocelyn Oxlade, a former Miss Hawaiian Tropic Philippines who has one of the poutiest lips we've ever seen on a woman.
She also has the kind of skin that makes girls want to lay under the sun for a bit.
Being faithful to our goal of making every man's life easier, we showed you no less than 90 ways on how to improve yourself that month, from guitars fit for rockstars...
...to facts about sexual health. Did you know that stress is a proven hard-on killer?
For all the gearheads, we tortured a pair of 4x4s rides from Ford, the Everest and the Escape, just because we can. Seriously, these are mean beasts of burden.
We cap of this trip down FHM memory lane with this lesson: Always clean your room, especially the area under your bed. You never know when you need to hide your girl there.
Until next month, fellow time-travellers!
