Save for the pre-Christmas sales that popped up in malls all over the metro, our Saturday and Sunday were relatively slow. The weekend ended with little scandal or sin, and that’s part of the reason why this Monday feels extra sluggish.
But boy do we have the perfect cup of pampagising for you: FHM's Best Of The Weekend features the First Sex Ever, the Age of Baller Pacquiao, and the geekiest comics news. Get ready to be jolted awake!
1) COLLAB OF THE WEEKEND: Slam Dunk X Jordan Brand
We love Sakuragi. We love Jordan shoes. Put them together, and we get a shoe-gasm. Over the weekend, we heard the news that the two iconic basketball figures will do their own mash-up. Jordan Brand will be releasing a colorway inspired by the influential hoops anime for their shoes, the Air Jordan 6 Retro and the Jordan Super Fly 3:
According to Nike, the collections will be available in their stores below starting October 18:
- Nike at The Fort
- Nike at Trinoma
- Nike at SM Mall of Asia
- Nike at Rockwell
- Titan stores across Metro Manila
Variant availability will depend on stores and supplies will be very limited, so if you’re a sneakerhead, you know what to do: Takbo na!
2) GEEKTASTIC HAPPENING OF THE WEEKEND: High Profile Superhero Is Dead!
If you’re a comic book fan but haven’t been updated in a while, then look away now, ‘cause we got a little spoiler.
Wolverine is dead. Yes, the supposedly immortal berserker has been killed off in the fourth issue of the Marvel miniseries, Death Of Wolverine. In an article by Fansided.com, a reviewer noted that the story leading up to Wolvie’s death began two years ago when the ex-X-Men lost his healing power. The arc climaxes with the said miniseries that began in September this year, with his enemies battling tooth and nail for the right to finally put Wolvie six feet under.
But fret not, Logan fan. You know how it is in comic books. Give it a year. You can bet your adamantium that this rough rider will be back.
