MILF and the Government See Eye to Eye!
According to an ABS-CBN report, the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front have reached an agreement to create a new political entity called Bangsamoro. The Muslim rebels announced Sunday that they were very happy that this roadmap to peace had been reached, ending the decades-long separatist insurgency in the South of the country. “We are very happy. We thank the president for this,” says MILF vice chairman for political affairs Ghazali Jaafar. Kapayapaan!
Cuddling, Now On Sale!
A new store in Japan called Soine-ya is offering a pay-for-cuddle service! Located in Tokyo’s Akihabara district, also known as the country’s mecca for everything otaku, the store charges each customer 3,000 yen for 20 minutes of cuddle time. Other services include an hour’s worth (6,000 yen), six hours’ worth (30,000 yen), and three minutes’ worth of holding hands or resting your head on a lady’s lap (1,000 yen). Must put this in our Japan trip itinerary!
Clark Airport’s Feeling Generous!
Clark International Airport Corporatio lowered their terminal fee for international passengers from P600 to P450! AirAsia Inc., which flies out of Clark, commended this move, noting that a P150 decrease means huge savings especially for budget travelers. AirAsia flies daily to Hong Kong, Macau, Kuala Lumpur, and, starting in December, Singapore, so you might want to check out their rates. Here’s to boosting air passenger traffic at Clark!
NPA Leader Captured in QC!
Government troops arrested the highest-ranking leader of the New People’s Army in Quezon City last Saturday, according to the Philippine Star. Benjamin Mendoza, who underwent commando, bomb making, heavy weapons, and sniper training in Libya during the '80s, was caught outside his hideout in Aurora Boulevard. Mendoza is also believed to be the brains behind raids in Mindoro, Batangas, Quezon, and Bicol. Any news surrounding public welfare is a good one in our book.
Batista Wins in MMA Debut!
We guess Batista's decision to leave the pro wrestling business in favor of a mixed martial arts career paid off in the end. Former WWE superstar Batista’s much-awaited mixed martial arts debut ended in spectacular fashion during last weekend’s Classic Entertainment and Sports event, as he defeated journeyman Vince Lucero by TKO at 4:05 in the first round.
