The daughter of former president Ferdinand Marcos, Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos has asked their family's critics to forgive the sins of her late father and let go of whatever grudge they hold against them. Imee made the statement on Sunday, September 12, during the commemoration of her late father's 99th birthday celebration in Batac City, ABS-CBN News reported.
Meanwhile, the Inquirer noted Imee as also saying that their family was deeply hurt by the petition against their father's burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City. President Rodrigo Duterte has earlier given the go signal allowing the Marcos patriarch to be buried at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (LNMB).
However, the Supreme Court issued an order that prevented Marcos's burial at the Libingan in response to numerous petitions fromÂrelatives or victims of human rights violations during Martial Law. The halt order has recently been extended to October 18.
