The first seven days of February marks the International Fitness Week. It's a week dedicated to inspiring people across the globe to make that healthy change. [firstpara] IFW's global ambassador is Scary Spice Mel B, who, after her Spice Girl stint, has become a fitness ambassador.
Popular gym chain Fitness First is bringing the campaign to the country with free classes and activities open to all members and non-members alike.
From February 1 to 7, the gym is opening its doors to everybody who'd like the opportunity to see what this healthy lifestyle is all about. It is opening its doors to both members and non-members who would like work out for free, maybe try a new exercise, class, or what-have-you.
While the festivities have already started last Monday, there are a slew of activities you can join from today until Sunday. For today, Wednesday, you can learn how to fight cardiovascular diseases through your diet. Fitness First's in-house Nutrionist will be leading the discussion.
Tomorrow, Thursday, Fitness First will focus on Endurance. There will be 10-minute treadmill workout, as well as a Talk test, that should let you know just how much stress you get everyday. Very helpful, especially for over-worked, deadline-beating office workers.
On Friday is yet another yuppy offering. You can get a Postural Analysis and learn how you can battle the common posture problem amongst yuppies, who tend to get too comfortable in their swivle chairs and cubicles.
Bring your family with you on Saturday for a Family work out, complete with a personal trainer, too. While Sunday, February 7, focuses on Group Exercise Classes.
But that's not all. Fitness First pays the goodness forward with their Fitness First Charity Spin on Sunday, February 7. For a participation fee of P150, you get nine (9) RPM classes as well as classes to the cycling group exercise. It's not just about keeping a fit body, you see (though you get that as well) but an over-all kind of happiness.
