How loud were they though?

A man living in Albuquerque, New Mexico had enough of his neighbors' loud lovemaking that he decided to take matters into his own hands.

He set his own apartment on fire.

The Albuquerque Journal reports that Reuben Cook told police on June 5 that he "tried to burn anything he could think of" in his apartment as an attempt to find some peace and quiet in jail.

In the official complaint Cook stated that he heard people having sex upstairs and making a lot of noise. By starting the fires he thought he could go to prison and get away from the ruckus.

The state granted him his wish as he was charged with arson and was sent off to county jail.

According to Cook’s father, David Cook, his son suffered from a stroke seven years ago that has left him mentally impaired. "They had to remove part of his brain," the elder Cook said. "He’s not in control of the things he thinks. It was not something that he planned."

Cook was released on his own recognizance Tuesday.
