A man who was found guilty of speeding took out his anger by paying the fine with pennies.
In a video he created to document his vengeful act, Brett Sanders of Texas is seen dumping about 22,000 pennies on the counter at Frisco Municipal Court. He also branded the buckets with the words "Policing for Profit" and "Extortion Money."
His video is now trending with over a million views after he posted it on YouTube on Wednesday.
“I’m not a big fan of extortion,” Sanders wrote in the description. “I was convicted by a jury for driving 39 in a 30 [mph zone] and was subject to $212 at the barrel of a gun.”
“When my fine came due, I just decided I may as well pay with pennies and we’ll make a big spectacle of it,” Sanders told the press.
The video shows him dumping the contents onto the counter causing the pennies to spill on to the floor. “Just mail me the receipt,” he says and walks away.
After three long hours of counting, clerks found out that Sanders overpaid $7.81—which means the city now owes him.
